Designer Spotlight - Lilly Pulitzer ♡

Happy Friday!! I hope you've had an awesome week.

This Friday I'm going to be talking about one of my favorite fashion designers of all time, Lilly Pulitzer. She had a truly unique view on the whole art of fashion design, and her illustrations are instantly recognizable because of the bright colors, beach themes, and animal themes.

I love the story of how Lilly got into the fashion design world. When she move to Palm Beach Florida, she opened a juice stand. Working at the juice stand and squeezing fruit got a lot of stains on her clothes. So, Lilly designed her classic sleeveless shift dress with bright and colorful fabric to hide the stains. When she wore this dress to work, she got a lot of compliments on the dress she had designed. Lilly then began making more of these dresses and selling them at her juice stand!! Of course, she ended up selling more dresses than juice, so Lilly changed her career interests to design. And ta-da, Lilly Pulitzer Inc. was founded in 1959!!
Here is a Lilly shift dress. It's absolutely adorable, and there are so many styles and prints to choose from on the Lilly Pulitzer website(if you can afford them that is. i just stare at them and wish they weren't over $100 each. still cute though.)
Now I'm just gonna put some of my favorite Lilly quotes:
And of course:

Hello everyone!

I've been interested in the fashion design world for some time now, but I've recently been really considering majoring in fashion design in college. I'm going to take up sewing lessons in April! For now, I'm working on my fashion illustrating skills.

So, I thought I'd share my first finished design. (I also posted it on my new Instagram, @claire.fashion)

I'm really looking forward to improving with each sketch I complete! I will definitely start posting them here.

Amazon Fashion Haul + Review ♡

Hello! ♡ A few weeks ago, I ordered a lot of cute clothes from Amazon. Since the majority of the clothes I bought came from international sellers, they took a bit longer to get to the US. Today I'll be sharing what I bought! For reference in regards to sizes if you want to buy any of these, I'm 5'2" and I weigh around 110 pounds. (Also, another thing to keep in mind is that some of these items are from Asia, who's sizes run smaller than U.S. sizes, so it's a good idea to order one above your size when buying Asian clothes. For example, order a large if you usually wear a medium)

Let's get started!

#1:Girl & Cat T-shirt - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LHBQYXS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  - Size: One Size from ACEFAST INC
This shirt is just adorable!! The girl's bow is actually a pin. The material is very silky and loose, and the colors are very vibrant.

#2: Black Skater Skirt - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HAV6QPU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Size: Small from LE3NO + 43CITY
I really needed a simple black skirt to add to my wardrobe, and this one is perfect. It's pretty stretchy, and the material isn't too thin. It is a bit short, but with leggings or tights underneath it you're good to go.

#3: Rainbow Feather Shirt - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LS4FNF4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Size: US 8-10 (Asian L) from Zeagoo
I just loved how the colors looked on this shirt, so I had to get it! This shirt is also silky and a bit shear, so I would wear a white tank underneath(that also brings out the colors of the feathers even more).

#4:Gray Cardigan With Faux Leather Deatils - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MGXAQHG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Size: Medium from Caramel Cantina + Kalon Clothing
This cardigan is so soft and comfy! It's very light and perfect for the fall.

#5:Striped T-Shirt: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L7O15HK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Size: M/US8 from Weixinbuy
I think that it's a good time to add some basic/staple pieces to your wardrobe. I love striped patterns and I couldn't pass this one up! The folded sleeves are super cute and the material is silky and light.

#6:Galaxy Skirt: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KMKKFJY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Size: One Size (fits XS- M) from Ninimour
Who doesn't love galaxy prints? I'm definitely looking forward to pairing this with a simple top to let the skirt stand out. This skirt is stretchy in the back and has avery nice material.

#7:Cherry Blossom Pullover Sweater: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N3GONLA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Size: Regular Size fits XS-M from Ninimour + qianbo
I think that these all-over print designs are so cool!! This sweater is so comfy and colorful. There are a ton of other prints to choose from, so I would definitely check it out.

#8: "Up" - Themed Shirt: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KDXYFC8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Size: One Size from Zeagoo
And of course, I saved the best for last! "Up" is one of my favorite movies of all time, so I was super excited to find this shirt. The colors really pop and the shirt has a nice cotton material.

So, overall, Amazon is a great site to find unique clothing for really good prices. Of course, the known risk of buying clothes online is buying something that doesn't end up fitting, so make sure that you read reviews and compare other people's sizes to yours to see what size would likely fit you best.

See you soon!
